May 30th

Last week of school!

Specials

This week our class has Music.

Class Updates
Class movie morning:
Our movie morning will be on 6/1. We will be showing the Animated Hero Classics movie about Abraham Lincoln's life rated G. 

We will also be watching another full movie in celebration of winning the specials award 5 times and finishing out the year. 
This movie will SING! which is also rated pg. 
If there is any issues or concerns with this please let me know and I will have an alternative for your student. 

Students are allowed to bring a stuffed animal and we will be having popcorn and juice. 

Yearbooks
Students will get and sign year books Friday morning.

Ameritowne
Our field trip to Ameritowne is on Wednesday, 5/31.
Please have them bring a disposable lunch and a water bottle.

The field trip link is ready for parents to register.  The cost of the trip is $26.50 per student.     Let me know of a parent that may need a paper form and we can get them one.  Also, let them know that the link works best in "GOOGLE CHROME" - if it is not working in their current browser have them switch to Chrome.

End of Year Luau
To celebrate the end of the year and the start of summer, we will be holding a 5th Grade Luau. Our luau will be from 2:00 - 3:30.

It had been a little chaotic towards the end of the school year. Please remind your student of expectations for school such as respect towards others and teacher, focusing, and working hard to finish out the year!

This week we will be cleaning out our cubbies and cleaning up our mobile!

Literacy:
We will also be writing letters to next years students. 

Social Studies:
This week we are continuing our study of economics.  We will be going to Ameritowne and reflecting afterward.

Our field trip to Ameritowne is on Wednesday, 5/31. If your child will not be attending, please let me know.

If you would like to chaperone for the day of Ameritowne please email me! We need volunteers!

For Field day please make sure your student brings a water bottle, sunscreen and hat! The weather looks like it should be great!

Math:
We are working on Geometry with focus on Angles. 

Social Studies:
This week we are continuing our study of economics.  Students will be getting ready to apply for their jobs for Ameritowne. We will also be preparing students for interviews and the skills they need for jobs. 

Interviews will be on May 17th from 2-3. Please remind students to dress nicely that day or to bring a change of clothes.


Homework
We will be having our spelling test Friday. Your student received their list today. It is also on spelling city. Students will also have math homework and will be bringing in any unfinished work that is not done in class for economics.

Math:
We are working on probability. 

Social Studies:
This week we are continuing our study of economics. We will be learning about the government of Ameritowne and our own government. Students will be getting ready to apply for their jobs for Ameritowne. We will also be preparing students for interviews and the skills they need for jobs. Interviews will be on May 17th from 2-3
